“[Neighborhood Media Arts] showed me how to take remarkable portraits using natural light in situations with the sun in front of, overhead, and behind the subject, using shade and sun in combination, using various reflectors in different ways – to take portraits of moving subjects – to shoot at different angles – to take portraits by natural light indoors – to communicate with the subject while shooting – to adjust for the background – and to use settings on my Nikon 810. We also spent one session photographing a model with a Speedlight flash attached to my camera as the light source. At my request, Rebecca critiqued some “pre-Rebecca” images and provided me with valuable suggestions that have improved my use of Lightroom. To sum up, she evaluated the skills that I already had, and then taught me the things that I was most interested in learning — all this in a patient, humorous, clear, and succinct style with lots of demonstration, practice, and fun.”
